Young Surveyors Network (YSN) Lagos State Branch

The Young Surveyors Network (YSN) Lagos, is a State branch of the Young Surveyors Network of Nigeria (YSN Nigeria). YSN Nigeria is a sub-group of the Nigeria Institution Of Surveyors (NIS) and a strong member of the Young Surveyor Africa Network (YSN Africa). The NIS is a member association of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) and YSN Africa is Regional Network under the FIG-YSN International.

YSN Lagos has the responsibility as stated by the FIG YSN International, to promote State, National, and International opportunities and experience among young minds, provide a forum for sharing and exchange of ideas, knowledge, skills and experience. In addition, YSNLagos seeks to create innovation that will help in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Our Vision

Our vision is to play a vital role in ensuring that all Lagos State Young Surveyors and students are well equipped with all necessary technological skills in Surveying and Geoinformatics, through intensive research, symposiums and trainings, thereby creating a platform where we can contribute to the development of the State.

To promote State, National and International opportunities and experiences for Young Surveyors in Lagos.
To improve the image of Surveying profession in Lagos State
To represent the interests of Young Surveyors within the State.
To help Young Surveying Professionals in Lagos State at the beginning of their careers with professional development tips.
To improve Young Surveyors awareness of FIG.
To improve the numbers of Young Surveyors in Lagos State participating in YSN Nigeria and FIG- YSN International.
To increase co-operation between the Young Surveyors and other members of the NIS.
To collaborate with the State Government by carrying out research, implementing projects and providing Geospatial deliverables that will contribute to the development of the State.
To be a major motivator at advancing the knowledge of geospatial technology and innovations among youths in the State.
To collaborate with other Young Professionals in research and execution of projects that will bring about the improvement of lives.
